Cleveland Way Day 7 Robin Hoods Bay - Scarbrough April 10th 2025

I left the Grovesnor Hotel at about 8:30 after a good breakfast and headed downhill to Old Robin Hoods Bay

This turned out to be quite a tough day. Lots of ups and downs starting with Boggle Hole just a couple of miles in.

Leaving Robin Hoods Bay

First climb of the day

I stopped for a welcome cup of tea at the National Trust cafe in Ravenscar.

The beach at Hayburn Wyke

Freddie Gilroy. A former WW2 soldier from Scarbough involved in the liberation of Belsen
Scarborough North Beach

It was quite a climb from the sea front up to the edge of the town where I found my b&b near the castle. After a cup of tea I went for a wonder down to the South Beach which is like a mini blackpool, I picked up a pannini which is the first time this week I didn't eat fish and chips !. After another climb back to the hotel I settled in for an early night and managed to catch United vs Lyon (first leg) on my phone.

Total Ascent 2215 feet. Total Descent 1990feet.

Day 7 clips
