This is a repeat of a walk we did with friends Allison and Gerry a few years ago.
I parked at the side of the minor road next to the woods called the Birches.
After passing some derilict industrial buildings the path climbs up through the woods to Aldewadsley and then at a four way junction take the right hand path which crosses a few fields to drop back down the the A6 road bridge over the Derwent. From there it is back along the Cromford canal back to Ambergate (this is the stretch I have done many times as part of the Crich Chase walk).

About 5.5 miles. A nice alternative to the Crich Chase walk on the other side of the valley
