Stanton Moor 18/04/2024

 I did this walk many years ago (before I started this blog), so it was great to get out again on this lovely bit of Derbyshire. I used the walk directions from the AA 1001 walks book.


I parked on the street in Birchover near to the start point at the Druid Inn. The directions were pretty good and there was no need to refer to OS maps on my phone.






The Cork Stone

Nine Ladies stone circle. A bronze Age burial site



The Reform Tower built in the 1830's to commemorate Earl Grey who fought for the reform of Parliment


St Michaels Church Birchover

A short but lovely walk. About 5 miles.
