Lingmoor Fell Saturday 14th September 2019

After failing to find the link path from Side Pike to the Lingmoor ridge, this was plan B which was a direct route from Blea Tarn house up the flank of the fell.

The road from Stool End FArm to Blea Tarn car park was like a mini Hardknott pass...ridiculously narrow in places. From the car park there was a few hundred yards along the road towards Blea Tarn House, and then the path was a straightforward slog up the flank of the fell.

Side Pike Friday 13th September 2019

After descending from Bow Fell I had been eyeing up Side Pike and Lingmoor Fell. The day was too nice to go and find a campsite and put my feet up.

According to the directions I needed to pick up the path through the NT campsite. I stopped at reception and ended up deciding to stay there for the night, so I walked back to the car park to pick the van up and get myself booked in. After sorting that out I set off on the walk. The plan had been to get to the top of Side Pike and then backtrack and find the ridge route onto Lingmoor Fell. In the end I couldn't find the route without dropping all the way back down to the road, so I opted for just Side Pike (I was quite knackered by this point) and to tackle Lingmoor Fell  on Saturday.

I was quite tired after this and headed on back down to the campsite for a well deserved rest

Not a Wainwright but a great little fell with some superb views.

Bow Fell Friday 13th September 2019

Perfect walking conditions. Clear, sunny, and no wind. I got up at stupid O clock and was parked up at the NT car park in Great Langdale at 7.00 AM.

I took the direct route there and back. Stool End Farm---The Band---Three Tarns---Bow Fell.

Baslow Edge White Edge Curbar Edge Froggatt Edge 8th September 2019

It is nearly 2 years (Dec 2017) since I have done this walk, so it was great to stride out along these lovely edges again.

Link to my OS maps account with the fly by view of the route.

Normal way around. Anticlockwise from near the curbar gap car park. I was parked on a layby as I had forgotten my NT membership card for the car park.

Lovely weather on a Sunday so the route was quite busy. Forecast for Monday was rubbish which is why I braved the crowds !
