- Parking on the edge of Castleton just before the 'broken road'
- Walk the full length of Rushup Edge
- Take the Penine Bridleway path from the end of Rushup Edge to Southhead
- Southhead to Mt Famine
- Back to the foot of Southhead
- Path to Brown Knoll
- Brown Knoll back to Rushup Edge
- Back to the car.

The path from Brown Knoll to Rushup edge was paved with stone slabs all te way. What a differeence from when I did it many years ago and ended up to my thighs in bog !!
