Walks with Lily March 2023

Granddaughter Lily expressed a desire to do some hiking, so after a trip to Decathalon to get some boots we did a couple of short walks in March.

1. Cromford

This is a walk I have done before and despite it being a shorty one the climb out of Cromford up into the woods looking down to the Derwent Valley is quite a pull. Lily found it to be quite a workout, with the bonus of an easy stroll back along Cromford canal to finish the walk.

It was quite cold with some light snowfall.

About 3 miles.

2 Codnor Castle

A short drive from Lily's Mums house to park at Codnor Park Resevoir, for this pleasant but muddy 3 mile circuit. Lily found this a lot easier than last week as there was no significant uphill to tackle.

No photos this time.

Chatsworth Birchen Edge 21/02/2023

The parking at Chatsworth was free which was a nice surprise. It has been 2'5 years since I last did this walk - September 2020 (covid seems like a long time ago).
