The usual parking spot was full up , so I drove a short distance up Robin Hood Road where there is some parking space at the edge of the woods.
About a hundred yards from the parking is a metal bridge over the canal to join the footpath towards Ambergate. I was over the bridge and down to the canal path and realised Meg wasn't behind me. She had panicked about crossing the bridge and I found her stuck in a patch of brambles on the opposits bank of the canal. After some cajoling she worked he way out and back to me where I gently coaxed he over the bridge on her lead. The strange thing about this episode is that she has done this walk many times with me (with no problems) , with the one difference that this bridge is normally at the end of the walk.
From there it was the normal anticlockwise route I have done many times before.
Lovely walk on a crisp , clear winters day.
